Mobile Learning

I am currently a member of Classroom 2.0 and frequent discussions on this site.  I have also created a Twitter account not only for myself, but for my department.  Social networking tools such as these are a great way to stay connected to our teachers as well as a great way to get information from other educators. I have already tweeted out this discussion for my followers.

Here is an example of a question I might ask teachers in my professional development classes.

I think that is a great FREE tool for educators that allows for them to use what they have available in their classrooms.  If they had iPod's or iPads, an app like Socrative would be another option.

In general, mobile technology includes many devices such as cell phones, iPads, tablets and minis.  Schools in NW Ohio have been implementing these types of technologies for many years.  We are at the point now where schools are seriously considering BYOT (bring your own technology) .  From a network standpoint this does become very hard to manage, however it is more cost effective for the schools considering they do  not have to constantly purchase equipment.
